‘Edge of Tomorrow’

No stranger to sci-fi action, Tom Cruise plays a reluctant military officer who’s forced to help fight in a global war against invading aliens in the 2014 flick “Edge of Tomorrow,” which arrived on Netflix this month. Like “Groundhog Day” meets “Starship Troopers,” Cruise’s character relives the same day over and over again every time he’s killed during a ground assault on the interstellar enemies. The unlikely hero must enlist the help of a deadly soldier, played by Emily Blunt, in order to save the day and break the cycle. Available on Netflix
