Chomp For Charity 5K opens UF’s 103rd Homecoming celebration

About 20 students led chants of phrases like “Big brother, we don’t want you” on Turlington Plaza Wednesday to protest the use of Flock Safety cameras on campus and around Gainesville. The protest follows a Sept. 1 decision by the Florida Department of Transportation to ban automated license plate readers, including Flock Safety cameras, from all state roads and highways.

Students roared and danced in the stands in the O’Connell Center to watch the Asian American Student Assembly on Saturday. The theme of this year’s performance was Kairos, an ancient Greek term describing a decisive moment in time. The event name was meant to represent how life’s unpredictability makes “action, words and movement” necessary.
UF Black Student Assembly celebrates culture at ‘The Gallery’

Student Senate braces for new cycle following mixed reactions last school year

The Senate Chamber in the Reitz Union sprang back to life Aug. 25, packed with Student Government representatives returning to the chamber for the first time since Spring. After laying out plans for elections and bidding farewell to its longest-serving senator, SG prepared for the coming months, prioritizing campus-wide health, safety and inter-organizational collaboration. Meanwhile, students look for more opportunities to interact with the chamber and its members.
