This profound suffering, this urgent cry for reflection demands our deepest empathy and swift action to identify and combat its causes. Parents, guardians, and communities gripped by fear are not adversaries but are fellow humans hopefully driven by love, desperately seeking to shield the vulnerable from the horrors of abuse. The voices of victimes, born of raw pain and a defensive instinct, must be heard with respect and understanding. Yet, in our shared moral imperative as "one nation under God," we cannot let fear eclipse the divine call to mercy, justice, and a keen heart toward redemption as a driving guide for all American citizens.
